What another busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our English learning this week, we completed lots of work on spelling patterns and rules. We played the game 'Best Bet' to help us identify patterns in spellings and then worked on applying these rules when writing sentences/paragraphs. We also worked on developing our understanding of sentence structure by exploring the key components of different sentence types and then applied this learning when creating a range of sentence types. On Friday, we then finished reading our class text 'Gorilla' by Anthony Browne in preparation to create our very own story next week before we finish for half term.

In maths, we explored how to use the column method to subtract a range of numbers. We used practical apparatus to support our knowledge and understanding of what happens when we take away and then we applied this learning to a range of fluency and word problems.

In our afternoon learning, we went swimming again at the Sport's Village in Ellesmere Port and the children also painted their gorillas in art with Mrs Coman-Jones.

What a busy week we have had!

Please ensure that your child brings in their reading book and record tomorrow so that their book can be changed.

Thanks

Mr L
