Team 5: w/b 13.6.16

Date: 18th Jun 2016 @ 9:36am

Team 5 began their week with a trip to Helsby High. We were looking at reversible and irreversible changes in a range of materials. The children particularly enjoyed using the Bunsen Burners to heat up the various materials in order to watch the change, and they were surprised at the bright light reaction caused by heating magnesium! It was a wonderful morning, and the behaviour could not have been better. I was really proud of the mature approach the children had towards the experiments.

This week we began imitating a persuasive letter, ready for the children to innovate upon next week. The children have now become really strong with learning the action map off by heart.

We have had several focuses in mathematics this week, including: decimals, imperial measures and finding missing angles. We have been solidifying and mastering prior knowledge.

Finally, on Tueaday morning we had another enjoyable event. We had a 'Rio' themed day, where children we able to samba dance, throw a shotput and play handball, hockey and archery. The children had a great time and worked well together in teams.

Have a lovely weekend, and I will see you all next week!
