This week we had the opportunity to dissect flowers and discover what role each part plays in the pollination and reproduction process.  Aftercarefully taking the flowers apart and examining the different parts, we then laid out the different sections and tried to correctly label them.

This week was our Languages Week.  In class, we revised French numbers and began learning about the Ivory Coast, a French-speaking country in Africa.  We located it on maps and identified major cities.  We then used Google Earth and Maps to zoom into some of it's major sightseeing locations, such as beaches and the rainforest.  After coming up with descriptions in groups, we then wrote postcards from the Ivory Coast.

In Maths, we linked to our work on Number and Place Value by ordering different facts about the Ivory Coast.  On Wednesday, we loved going into different classes in Key Stage 2 to learn about different languages.  We learned some Spanish with Miss Delaney, sign language with Mrs Hughes and some Mandarin with Mr Thomas.  With Mrs Jobber, we researched a country and made information sheets in groups.  It was wonderful fun learning about different languages and cultures and we can't wait for our next French lesson!

We hope to see you all at the 50th Birthday party for the school on Saturday!
