Team 5 w/b 6.3.17

Date: 12th Mar 2017 @ 12:43pm

Team 5 have had a busy and exciting week, the most memorable being our class trip to Liverpool.  The trip involved 2 destinations; the Childwall Synagogue and the World Museum.  The whole class did Horns Mill proud with their excellent behaviour throughout the day.  At the synagogue they listened beautifully and asked thoughtful and respectful questions about Jewish beliefs (and we all got to try some special Passover bread - yummy!)  At the world museum, we started off exploring the space and time exhibition and everyone is very excited to continue their learning about space and our solar system over the next few weeks.  There was also time to explore the rest of the exhibits before returning to school.

This week began a new English topic on explanation texts, which will link in to our space topic and give the class an opportunity to demonstrate their new learning through their writing.  In maths, we have continued to learn how to add fractions and also multiply and divide decimal numbers by 10 and 100.

Now that we are 2 weeks into the term, we have had 4 mindfulness lessons.  I think some of us have found the level of concentration needed harder than expected, but in Monday's lesson I saw a big improvement from the class as a whole and I hope we can keep this up over the rest of the term; well done Team 5!
