Team 5: w/b 8.11.16

To link in with our Christmas production, Team 5 have started learning about playscripts; how they are written and why we need them.  In maths, we are learning to use multiplication and division facts to prove our reasoning and solve problems. 

The children have been really excited to begin preparing for our Christmas production by learning the songs and deciding on casting and behind-the –scene roles, which they have taken on with enthusiasm!

Towards the end of the week, the children were given a new list of spellings that will be practised within class. We considered word meaning and used our knowledge to place our spellings into sentences. In Guided Reading, we were focusing upon interpreting the meaning of unknown words based on a given context.

We began a new topic in Mathematics: column addition and subtraction. The children recalled their prior knowledge expertly, which will lead them on to reasoning and problem solving in subsequent lessons.

In Science, we completed our ‘Animals Including Humans’ topic focusing upon the Human Life Cycle. We applied our skills with in a mathematical context.

The children also enjoyed a cinema trip on the Friday, within which we watched Pete’s Dragon. Behaviour was exemplary on this trip and we all had a fantastic time.
