Team 6 - 20.1.20

Date: 26th Jan 2020 @ 6:34pm

This week in Team 6 we have been developing our writing skills using our class text.  We have been working on using parenthesis effectively, whilst also using modal verbs and adverbs for possibility in our writing.  We used these skills to create an information leaflet about Kakapos, an endangered bird that we found out about from our class text.  We will publish these using Word on Monday.

In Maths, we have come to the end of our fractions unit.  We have been learning how to calculate with fractions - adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.

In PE, we have been developing our hockey skills.  This week, we worked on accurate passing in pairs and further developed our control with the hockey stick.  In just 3 weeks of this unit, there is a clear progression in the hockey skills of all the children!  Please ensure that your child has their PE kit in every Tuesday.

In Art this week, we developed our printing techniques.  We looked at different printing styles and had a go at each, including mono-print.  We will be continuing this over the course of the next few weeks to design and create a final piece using printing and oil pastels using the works of Henri Rousseau and Andy Warhol as a stimulus.

I hope that you've had a lovely weekend and I shall see you all on Monday.
