Team 6 wb 15.1.24

Date: 21st Jan 2024 @ 4:38pm

This week, we started the week revisiting all of the British Values following a Picture News assembly. The British Values are Democracy, Rule of Law, Tolerance, Indiviidual Liberty and Mutual Respect.

In Reading lessons this week, we have been learning about our new spotlight author (Rachel Ignotofsky) and focusing on some of the books she has written. Rachel writes books about nature but also about significant women in different areas, e.g. Women in art and Women in Sport are two of her books. We enjoyed looking at some of her texts.

In maths we have been mutiplying fractions with whole numbers, mixed numbers with whole numbers and fractions with fractions. This was really fun and T6 got really good at them by the end of the week :)

During geography, we have been locating where the mountainour ranges are in the UK and focusing on the rocky areas of the UK's landscape. We looked at the mountains with the highest peaks: Snowdon (in Wales), Scarfell Pike (in England), Ben Nevis (in Scotland) and Slieve Donard (in Northern Ireland).

In English this week we have been learning how to use parethesis and how to write with them in our sentences.

At the end of the week, 4 children from Team 6 took part in a Maths competition with other local primary schools and WON! Well done to Ruby, Lily, Leo and Arlo! They will take part in a final now in March.

Have a good weekend everyone.

Savana and Tink.
