Team 6: wb 5.2.24

Date: 10th Feb 2024 @ 7:10am

This week it has been children’s mental health week. In art we have made our own spirals to show what is important to us and what matters to us in the wider world. A few examples are reading, our families and the environment.

In maths we have moved onto decimal work. We have recapped our place value knowledge from Y5 and looked at dividing a one-digit number by 10, 100 and 1000. After we had got the hang of doing that we moved on to dividing a one-digit number by a bigger one-digit number and giving the answer as a fraction or decimal.

In English we have started a plan on a non-chronological report about the Windrush generation and their journey, their experiences and problems faced.

In geography we have recreated the UK from memory using playdough, being as accurate as we can be. We then labelled the different countries,  seas and as many cities as we could. We also added in the highest mountains of the UK: Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis, Snowdon and Slieve Donard. We checked our accuracy with our class map.

We finished the week with a very fun game of dodgeball in Mouse Mania.

Have a great weekend everyone,

Ruby
