Week 10 - 17.11.18

Date: 27th Nov 2018 @ 4:09pm

A brilliant ending to Block 1! We have really enjoyed all our learning this block and the children’s efforts have been fabulous. We are all excited to be starting our new Healthy Habits and Humans topic for the next block of learning.

After all of our hard work in maths last week the children now have a secure understanding of how to use bar models. This week we have used our newly taught skills to help us check calculations and how we can make them accurate. The children also created their own unbalanced calculations for their partner to balance.

In English, we have started working on our next book of ‘The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark’ By Jill Tomlinson (Please do not read this at home with your child until we have finished). In this unit of work, the children will be learning to: use commas for a list, add -ly to turn adjectives into adverbs and use co-ordination of ‘but’ and ‘or’. We will also be consolidating our understanding of expanded noun phrases. We may also see some furry friends visit us in class over the next few weeks.

Have a fabulous weekend and I will see you all on Monday!
