Week 12 - 30.11.18

Date: 4th Dec 2018 @ 4:16pm

What a jam packed fun filled week we have had! The children of Team 2 have worked their socks of this week practising for their nativity play. I cannot believe just how well they know their lines. I am looking forward to taking their scripts off them on Monday and seeing how well they do.

As Christmas approaches you can feel the excitement in the classroom which makes for some fun filled learning. Next week we will be starting our Christmas story books. Which is always a fan favourite with the children. We will be retelling the story of ‘The Elves and the Shoemaker’ Please feel free to read this book with your child as the more they understand the story the easier it will be for them to retell it. Talking of Elves, I wonder if we will get any visitors in our classroom next week!

In maths this week we have been looking at related facts and how recognising similar numbers can help us with working out our maths problems. Next week the children will learn number bonds to 100 using tens and subtracting in 1s.

We are continuing with our English unit and the children are finding it fascinating learning all about owls and having lots of fun playing with adjectives. After our Christmas story we will be looking to see just how well the children can use the skills that have been taught so far.

Here’s to another great week of learning!

See you all Monday T2 !

Mr Oldfield.
